She never set out to become a strong, independent woman who could take on the world.
Life just kept throwing things at her until she had no choice but to learn how to fight back.
And goodness, what a journey it’s been.
She’s been knocked down, brokenhearted, disappointed and pushed to limits she never knew existed.
There were days she didn’t know how she’d make it through and nights when she cried herself to sleep, wondering how much more she could take.
But somehow, some way, she always found a reason to get back up.
Not because she wasn’t scared or hurting..
But because quitting was never something she could live with.
She’s stumbled, made mistakes and occasionally handled things with all the grace of a beautiful disaster.
But she figured it out.
She always does.
Every storm taught her something, every heartbreak made her wiser and every setback reminded her that she had a whole lot more fight left in her than she realized.
She learned to appreciate the sunshine after the rain, the people who stayed when life got ugly and the little moments that made all the struggles worthwhile.
She’s still got her bad days.
Sometimes she’s exhausted, overwhelmed and wondering how in the world she’s going to handle everything.
But give her a little time to catch her breath, wipe her tears and straighten her crown..
And she’ll be right back at it.
She’s got a heart of gold, a stubborn streak a mile wide and enough fire in her soul to keep going when everything says she shouldn’t.
She isn’t perfect, fearless or unbreakable.
She’s something better..
She’s real.
A fighter.
A survivor.
A warrior.
And the most beautiful part of her story?
She never needed life to be easy to become someone extraordinary.
She just needed the courage to keep going when it wasn’t.
I know her story because I’ve lived every painful, beautiful chapter of it.
That woman is me..
And I’m not finished becoming everything I was meant to be.
Life didn’t hand me these wings..
I earned them every time I refused to stay down.
And sweetheart, I’m just getting started.
